Overview

The RADIX is a compact, modular ultrasonic weld inspection scanner that can be configured for manual or automated scanning of circumferential and axial welds.

For circumferential scanning, its self-adjusting probe mechanism accommodates surfaces ranging from a 12-inch internal radius, through flat surfaces, down to the radius of a 4-inch nominal pipe OD. No probe-angle or spring adjustments are required across this range. The constant-force spring mechanism and patented anti-tip gimbals help maintain stable probe contact for consistent coupling and reliable data quality.

Tool-free attachments allow technicians to quickly rearrange the scanner for different inspection configurations. For automated scanning, compact driven wheel packs eliminate the need for a separate driving crawler. The automated configuration is steerable and can be powered by ScanTech’s portable, battery-operated Batt Pack.

Additional features include an optional laser alignment attachment, integrated couplant distribution routing and a surface-compensating encoder for manual scanning.
